Managing crypto across multiple exchanges without a unified view is friction you don’t need. Bitsgap’s portfolio tracker aggregates all your connected exchange balances, bot positions, and performance data into one dashboard. Here’s what it does and how to use it effectively.

Run GRID, DCA, COMBO, and BTD bots across 15+ exchanges from one dashboard. 7-day free trial, no card needed.
What the Bitsgap Portfolio Tracker Does
The portfolio tracker is a free feature included with all Bitsgap plans, including the demo mode. It connects to your exchange accounts via read-only API keys and aggregates:
- Total portfolio value across all connected exchanges in real time
- Asset allocation breakdown (what percentage is BTC, ETH, USDT, etc.)
- Bot performance: P&L for each active bot, total bot profits
- Open positions: Current price vs. average entry for each holding
- Historical performance: Portfolio value over time (chart view)
- Trade history: All executed orders across all connected exchanges
If you hold BTC on Binance, ETH on Coinbase Advanced, and USDC on Kraken, the tracker shows your total USD equivalent and allocation in one screen — without logging into three separate exchanges.
Setting Up the Portfolio Tracker
Step 1: Connect Exchanges (Read-Only)
The portfolio tracker uses read-only API keys — these allow Bitsgap to view your balances and trade history but cannot place orders or initiate withdrawals.
For read-only access (portfolio tracking only):
- Generate an API key on your exchange with read permissions only (no trade, no withdraw)
- Add it to Bitsgap under My Exchanges → Add Exchange
- Select “Read Only” mode
If you also want to run bots on the exchange, you’ll need to add trade permissions as well, but the tracker functions fully with read-only access.
Step 2: Open the Portfolio View
Click Portfolio in the Bitsgap navigation bar. The dashboard loads within seconds of connecting your first exchange.
Reading the Portfolio Dashboard
Total balance section: Shows total USD equivalent across all exchanges. Updates in real time as prices move.
Asset breakdown: Pie chart and table showing your allocation across all assets. Useful for identifying concentration risk — if 85% of your portfolio is in a single asset, the chart makes that immediately visible.
Exchange breakdown: How much of your total portfolio is on each connected exchange. Useful for assessing counterparty exposure across platforms.
Bot positions tab: All active bots, their current P&L (unrealized), and cumulative completed profit. Includes breakdowns for GRID, DCA, BTD, and COMBO bots separately.
AI Portfolio Mode (Pro Plan)
Pro plan users gain access to AI Portfolio Mode — a feature that analyzes your current portfolio allocation and provides recommendations for bot strategy deployment based on:
- Current market conditions and volatility
- Your existing bot activity
- Asset concentration and risk profile
AI Portfolio Mode doesn’t automatically rebalance or make trades — it surfaces suggestions that you execute manually. Think of it as an advisory layer over your portfolio data.
This feature is particularly useful for portfolio managers running 10+ bots simultaneously who need help identifying where new automation is most likely to be additive.
Portfolio Performance Tracking Over Time
The historical view shows portfolio value as a curve over your selected time period. Unlike exchange-native charts that only show a single account, this chart reflects your total wealth across all connected exchanges, adjusted for daily P&L from bots.
Use cases for the historical view:
- Bot attribution: Compare portfolio growth periods against active bot periods to validate bot contribution
- Drawdown visibility: See peak-to-trough drawdowns across major market events
- Cycle tracking: Identify when the portfolio peaked and where you currently stand in the cycle
Trade History and Tax Reporting
The trade history section aggregates all completed orders from connected exchanges in chronological order. This is useful for:
- Manually reviewing all bot trades for a given period
- Exporting trade data for tax calculation (note: Bitsgap doesn’t directly generate tax reports, but the data export provides the raw inputs for tools like Koinly or CoinTracker)
Export is available via CSV download in the trade history section.
Practical Use for Multi-Exchange Traders
For a trader running:
- GRID bot on BTC/USDT (Binance)
- DCA bot on ETH/USD (Coinbase Advanced)
- BTD bot on BTC/USDT (KuCoin)
- Manual holdings on Kraken
Bitsgap’s portfolio tracker shows all four accounts in one view. You see total exposure, per-exchange breakdown, bot P&L attribution, and historical performance without switching between four exchange dashboards.
This alone is worth the Bitsgap subscription for multi-exchange traders who currently do this manually.
Portfolio Tracker vs Dedicated Portfolio Apps
Tools like CoinStats, Delta, or CoinTracker also provide multi-exchange portfolio tracking. Differences:
Bitsgap advantage: Bot P&L attribution, smart orders integration, and bot management in the same interface. If you’re running Bitsgap bots, the native tracker is more informative than a third-party app.
Third-party advantage: Dedicated portfolio apps often have better tax reporting features, DeFi wallet integration (Bitsgap is CEX-only), and richer mobile experiences.
For a Bitsgap user, the native tracker is sufficient for portfolio monitoring. Add a tax reporting tool separately for year-end reporting.

FAQ
Is the portfolio tracker included in the free trial?
Yes. Bitsgap’s 7-day Pro trial includes full portfolio tracker access, including AI Portfolio Mode.
Does the tracker work with read-only API keys?
Yes. For portfolio tracking only, read-only API keys are sufficient. You only need trade permissions if you also want to run bots on the same exchange.
Can I track wallets or DeFi positions?
No. Bitsgap is CEX-only. It tracks exchange accounts, not external wallets, DeFi protocols, or cold storage. For DeFi/wallet tracking, use a dedicated tool like Zapper or DeBank.
How often does the portfolio value update?
In real time. Bitsgap’s dashboard refreshes prices continuously via exchange API feeds.
Does Bitsgap provide tax reports?
No directly. The trade history is exportable as CSV for use in third-party tax tools like Koinly, CoinTracker, or CryptoTaxCalculator.
