Stoic.ai Fee Breakdown 2026: Every Tier Explained

Stoic.ai fee breakdown 2026: Starter, Plus, and Pro tiers explained. Annual cost by portfolio size, fee math, and comparison to subscription bots.

Stoic.ai’s fee model is its most distinctive feature and its most misunderstood one. Unlike subscription bots that charge a flat monthly fee regardless of your portfolio size, Stoic charges an annual management fee tied to your portfolio — similar to how traditional asset managers operate. Understanding exactly how this works, tier by tier, is essential before you commit capital.

The Three Tiers

Starter Tier — Portfolios up to $3,500

  • Annual cost: $108/year ($9/month equivalent)
  • Payment: Credit/debit card or crypto
  • Best for: Testing the platform with a small allocation

Plus Tier — Portfolios $3,500 to $10,000

  • Annual cost: $300/year ($25/month equivalent)
  • Payment: Credit/debit card or crypto
  • Best for: Mid-range portfolios where subscription-style pricing is preferred

Pro Tier — Portfolios above $10,000

  • Annual cost: 5% of your managed portfolio value
  • Payment: Crypto (USDT or equivalent) — credit/debit not accepted at this tier
  • This fee is charged on the amount you set as your managed portfolio, not on profits
  • Best for: Larger portfolios where percentage-based management aligns with value delivered

What the Fee Includes

One payment covers:

  • 24/7 algorithmic portfolio management by Stoic Meta
  • All rebalancing trades executed on your behalf
  • Dynamic asset selection and position sizing
  • Risk management through volatility-scaled positioning
  • Access to the Stoic dashboard for performance monitoring
  • Any strategy updates Cindicator deploys to the Meta algorithm

What is not included: exchange trading fees. Every trade Stoic executes on your exchange incurs the exchange’s standard trading fee (Coinbase Advanced: 0.05–0.6% per trade; Binance: 0.1% standard, lower with BNB discount). These are paid directly to the exchange, not to Stoic.

Deposit Fees: The Important Detail

If you add funds to your exchange account after Stoic has been running, Stoic charges a deposit fee on the new amount at the same 5% rate (prorated for the remaining time on your annual period).

Example: You connect Stoic on January 1 with a $20,000 portfolio and pay $1,000 (5%). In July, you add $10,000 more. Stoic charges a prorated 5% on $10,000 for the remaining 6 months: $250.

If the deposit fee would be less than 30 USDT, Stoic waives it and starts trading the new funds automatically. This threshold prevents micro-transaction fees from accumulating.

Annual Cost by Portfolio Size

Portfolio ValueTierAnnual FeeFee %
$1,000Starter$10810.8%
$2,500Starter$1084.3%
$3,500Starter/Plus$108–$3003.1–8.6%
$5,000Plus$3006.0%
$10,000Plus/Pro$300–$5003.0–5.0%
$15,000Pro$7505.0%
$30,000Pro$1,5005.0%
$50,000Pro$2,5005.0%
$100,000Pro$5,0005.0%
$500,000Pro$25,0005.0%

The tier transition points matter: entering the Plus tier at $3,500 doubles the fee from $108 to $300. The most cost-efficient entry to the Plus tier is at the top ($10,000) where the percentage drops to 3%. The most cost-efficient Pro tier entry is anywhere above $10,000 at a flat 5%.

No Performance Fee: The Key Differentiator

This deserves emphasis. Stoic does not take a percentage of your profits.

If the algorithm generates 60% returns on your $50,000 portfolio ($30,000 profit), you keep the full $30,000. Your annual fee is still $2,500.

Compare this to:

  • Hedge funds: typically 2% annual + 20% of profits (“2 and 20”)
  • Copy traders: many signal providers charge 20–30% profit share
  • Yield products: often charge exit fees or lock capital

Stoic’s flat fee model means Cindicator’s revenue comes from you staying a client — not from taking a cut of your gains. This is a meaningful structural alignment.

Comparison to Subscription Bots

Platform$30K Portfolio Annual CostWhat’s Covered
Stoic Pro$1,500 (5%)Full managed portfolio + strategy
Bitsgap Advanced$660/yearBot execution only (you configure)
3Commas Pro$1,548/yearBot execution only (you configure)
Coinrule Trader$708/yearRule automation only

Stoic is more expensive than subscription bots in absolute terms at $30K. But subscription bots provide execution infrastructure only — they don’t manage your asset allocation, select positions, or rebalance. You’re comparing different services.

The relevant comparison is: Stoic ($1,500/year for full managed portfolio) vs paying for a subscription bot ($660–$1,548/year) plus your own time managing it (10+ hours/week).

Fee Renewal

Stoic charges annually. At renewal, the fee is recalculated based on your portfolio’s current value. If your portfolio grew from $30,000 to $45,000, your Year 2 fee is $2,250 (5% of $45,000).

This means Stoic’s revenue grows with your portfolio success — but the percentage stays constant. There is no “loyalty discount” for long-term clients, but there is also no fee increase beyond the portfolio growth component.

Coinbase Advanced Reduces Exchange Fee Drag

Stoic executes trades on your connected exchange. Coinbase Advanced offers competitive trading fees (0.05% maker / 0.6% taker, with tiers improving at higher volume). Pairing Stoic with a low-fee exchange setup minimizes the exchange-side cost drag.
