ChatGPT Prompts for Sales Scripts: Word-for-Word Call Frameworks

ChatGPT prompts for sales call scripts — cold calls, demos, closing, and renewal conversations. Role-play-tested frameworks for SDRs and AEs.

Tested on: GPT-4oClaude 4

The Prompt

Act as a sales enablement director who has written scripts used by 500+ reps across multiple industries.
Write a complete sales call script for:
Call type: {cold call / warm follow-up / demo call / closing call / renewal}
Product/service: {what you sell}
Prospect: {role, company type, industry}
Call objective: {exactly what a successful call looks like — e.g. book a demo, get verbal commitment, close the deal}
Key value proposition: {the 1-2 sentences that best describe why prospects should care}
Top 2 objections you expect: {what they're likely to push back on}
Call duration: {5 minutes / 15 minutes / 30 minutes}

Script structure:
[OPENER — 15-30 seconds]
Permission ask → reason for call → one-sentence value hook

[DISCOVERY — {40% of call}]
3 questions to qualify interest and surface pain

[PITCH — {20% of call}]
Problem → solution → proof (one specific example or stat)

[HANDLE OBJECTION #1]
Acknowledge → reframe → advance

[HANDLE OBJECTION #2]
Acknowledge → reframe → advance

[CLOSE — 30-60 seconds]
Specific ask → silence → handle hesitation

[VOICEMAIL SCRIPT — 20-25 seconds]
If no answer — leave a compelling message

Constraints:
- Opener must earn a "yes, go ahead" — don't pitch in the first 30 seconds
- Discovery questions must be open-ended — no yes/no
- Close must be a specific proposal with a clear next step — not "any questions?"
- Voicemail must include a specific reason to call back (not "to discuss our services")

Variables to fill in

  • {call type} Cold call, warm follow-up, demo, closing, or renewal
  • {call objective} What a successful call achieves
  • {key value proposition} Why prospects should care — 1-2 sentences
  • {top objections} The 2 most common pushbacks you expect
  • {call duration} 5, 15, or 30 minutes

How to use this prompt

  1. Use the voicemail script for your first 3 attempts before switching to email-only
  2. Practice the opener and close in role-play until they sound natural, not scripted
  3. Modify the discovery questions for your specific ICP before using live
  4. Record yourself using the script and listen back — adjust where you sound unnatural

Scripts are for training, not for reading

The goal of a sales script is to internalize the structure and key phrases — not to read word-for-word during a live call. Reps who read from scripts sound robotic. Reps who practiced a script but ad-lib within its structure sound confident. Use this prompt to build the skeleton, then practice until the skeleton is invisible.

The opener’s job is to earn 60 more seconds

A cold call opener should not pitch. It should earn permission to pitch. The structure in this prompt (permission ask → reason for call → value hook) is specifically sequenced to make the prospect feel in control before they’ve heard anything about your product. That feeling of control reduces their defensive instinct.

Silence after the close is not awkward — it’s necessary

After proposing the next step, the natural instinct is to fill the silence. Don’t. The first person to speak after a closing question has lost the negotiation. The script includes a [silence] marker after the close specifically to remind reps to hold their ground.
